Brenna & Blake’s Daufuskie Island Wedding {Charleston, SC Wedding Photography)

Last weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Brenna & Blake’s Daufuskie Island wedding as a second shooter for Paige Winn Photo.  I had read about Daufuskie Island many years ago in a Southern Living magazine, but as it is only accessible by ferry (there are no cars on the island, and you get around by golf carts) I hadn’t yet make the trek to cross that item off my bucket list.  When Paige asked me if I’d tag along for Brenna & Blake’s wedding, I jumped at the chance!

The ferry ride from Hilton Head to Haig Point took us to another world, where life was much quieter and slower-paced.  I could see exactly why this sweet Nashville couple had chosen this location for their April nuptials.  The Spanish moss dripping from the live oak trees and the interesting tabby ruins just added to the quintessential Southern charm of this place.

This pair was one of the most easygoing and cheerful couples I’ve ever had the honor of photographing, and I loved that they even included their very well-mannered pup in their special day – bowtie and all!
